Viking style sailboat SAINT PAUL, 55 x 14 ft. - replica of boats, which discovered Alaska in 1741. She has been designed by the ancient plans with double ends and colorful wooden cups. Her Captain Mike carved from the pine for the figure head legendary man from the Bible SAINT PAUL.
She was megement by the International rules at the waterline and officially has 55 feet length. But, as in USA length counting by the space, which boat takes near the pear, she is actually 60 feet: bow and stern are not strait, has slanting lines.
This boat is a big part of American history. SAINT PAUL has repeated the voyage of the Danish explorer Vitus Bering across the always stormy North Pacific. It has been featured in many movies: in 120 movies Mexican serial “CORACON SALVAHE” (WILD HEART), in Canadian serial with 110 movies and in US, Russian and other countries documentaries – totally in 235 films! Also SAINT PAUL is a hero of the seven books, which been written and published by her owner, journalist, writer and Captain Mike Pobo. Crew and boat weathered 9 hurricanes and hundreds of the storms. On the Pacific side of Mexico we been hit by the hurricane Kelvin and for 2 days were fighting with 60 ft. waves. Near the Salvador coast we been attacked by pirates.
The owners Mike and Irene also artists (look our sites www.mpobo.com and www.mpobo.ru) and covered our vessel as a real house with the colorful wooden ornaments. Saint Paul took part in a few Tall Ships Festivals in USA and Canada. It has sailed over 55,000 nm in 24 years. She has 150 hp Isuzu diesel engine, which worked only 70 hours after rebuild. One ton capacity stainless steel fuel tank, 55 gallons water tank, and 36 gallon waste tank. Full set of sails included.
In one separate cabin it can sleep 2 people, in another 3 cabins there are three double beds 6x5.5 ft. It can sleep 8 people total, great as the houseboat for even big family.
The vessel has fully equipped galley with the propane stove, grill, fridge, all cooking pans, skillets etc. There is also a head on board and plenty of room for storage. Brand new solar panel 240 w with 2 new deep cycle batteries. 2 inverters 750 and 2000 watts gives more than enough 110 volts power for lights, phones and computer with internet. Even for a few hours you can run small fridge – but if to add more batteries, fridge would run continuously. Also aboard WI-FI modem and working internet.
